Lutheran Disaster Response of New York has offices at the Comfort & Renew Center overlooking Ground Zero. It moved to these new offices in 2003, after previously sharing space with the Metropolitan New York Synod offices in uptown Manhattan. It was the vision of Executive Director Dr. John J. Scibilia to have a dedicated Comfort & Renew Center, where visitors could come and see the work being done to renovate Ground Zero. It was also his vision that LDRNY be a part of the revitalization of lower Manhattan by becoming a tenant there. In late 2003, several of LDRNY’s partners opened their offices in the Comfort & Renew Center. They include:
